My Adobe Stock Journey – Monetization and Free Collection Challenge
Written on: August 21, 2025
1. The Reality of Adobe Stock Reviews
One of the first things I learned on Adobe Stock is that reviews take time — sometimes up to 8 weeks. While other platforms like Freepik or Shutterstock approve assets in a matter of days, Adobe Stock has a more rigorous review system.
At first, the wait can feel frustrating. That’s why I created a simple habit: upload one file per day. This steady approach helps me stay consistent and ensures that my portfolio keeps growing, even during the long review period.
2. My Portfolio Progress So Far
As of today, I have uploaded 136 files, with 10 files still pending review.
My total earnings so far are around $54 USD.
While this may not sound like much, it proves that Adobe Stock can generate steady income if you keep uploading. Analyzing which files sell well is also valuable, since it gives me insights into popular themes and styles that buyers are actually looking for.
3. Free Collection Opportunities
Adobe Stock currently offers a special program called the Free Collection. Contributors can nominate eligible assets until August 30, 2025.
There are two types of Free Collections:
Annual Free Collection
Earn $4 per asset, up to $32 if all 8 assets are selected.
Perpetual Free Collection
Earn $10 per asset, up to $80 if all 8 assets are selected.
Here’s the interesting part: the maximum number of assets you can submit is not the same for everyone.
Some contributors may be allowed to submit up to 8 assets,
while others might only be able to submit 3 assets or even fewer.
It seems Adobe Stock decides this individually, based on account history, file quality, and overall performance. Therefore, every contributor should carefully check their own dashboard to confirm how many files they’re allowed to nominate.
4. Giving Unsold Files a New Life
Instead of letting unsold files sit in my portfolio for over a year, I see the Free Collection as a great way to repurpose unused content. Even if those files didn’t sell, they can still generate income through this program. If this strategy works well, I may continue using it as a long-term approach.
5. Looking Ahead
I’m still waiting for the results of my submission, but I’m optimistic that this could become a new opportunity for growth. Whether it’s through consistent uploads or special programs like the Free Collection, I believe patience and persistence are key to succeeding on Adobe Stock.
Once the results are announced, I’ll share an update with more details about the experience. For now, I hope my story helps other contributors who are navigating the same long review process.
